CSMA Delegation Visited Japan for Research and Exchange

In order to better understand the development of Japanese sewing machinery, learn from the advanced manufacturing concepts and experiences of developed countries, China Sewing Machinery Association (CSMA) organized a delegation of more than 20 people, to Japan for a focused exchange activity from 24th to 30th November 2024. The delegation was led by Chairman Yang Xiaojing and Vice-Chairman Liu Min, together with the key persons in charge of enterprises including Helin, Xiangrui, Jinzhen, Promaker, Longtai, Yuning, Jiajing, Sanhexin, Zhuozheng, Tongchuang, T.C.P., Carv, Chuangsheng, Jinlei and Kaiyuan.

The delegation visited Tokyo, Nagoya, Kyoto, Osaka, and other cities, during the trip, they visited institutions such as the University of Tokyo, Suntory Natural Water Beer Plant, Toyota Industry Museum, and Murata Machinery Co., Ltd., gained in-depth insights into the development history, management practice, and business philosophies of the companies through visits and exchanges.

During the visit, Chairman Yang Xiaojing was invited to attend the 110th anniversary celebration of Pegasus, he delivered a speech and met with Pegasus's President, Shigemi Mima. The delegation also visited the JIAM 2024 OSAKA exhibition.

At the Suntory Natural Water Beer Plant and the Toyota Industry Museum, the delegation was guided by professional staff and learned about the enterprises' development history, basic infrastructure, equipment upgrades, and software-hardware integration. They explored the typical practices in management models, operational systems, and production R&D, gaining valuable insights from the historical experiences and practices at different stages of these companies' development.

The delegation also held a symposium with Murata Machinery, President Daisuke Murata and Business Manager Tetsuji Masai introduced the company’s main products, including textile machinery, automated logistics systems, machine tool, and sheet metal machinery, they also answered the delegation’s questions. After the meeting, the delegation visited the production plant to observe equipment demonstrations and researched the entire operational process of the company, with particular attention on how the company responds to different customer needs, collaborates across the supply chain, develops international markets, and promotes digital upgrades. Extensive and detailed discussions were held. Chairman Yang Xiaojing officially invited Murata Machinery to participate CISMA 2025.

Delegation members expressed that the trip was well-organized and practical, with a packed itinerary and a variety of activities. They not only learned about Japan’s advanced business models but also deepened exchanges among members. The trip provided a direct view of the industry’s current innovations and future development directions, offering substantial insights and practical reference for their own companies' development.

Chairman Yang Xiaojing emphasized that after eight years, CSMA had once again organized a corporate delegation to Japan for exchanges and exhibition visits. This is part of the association’s ongoing efforts to promote the dual circulation development model and support Chinese sewing machinery enterprises in expanding their overseas markets. It also represents a concrete step in the association’s service improvement and the realization of the goal of “building a foundation and creating six platforms.” In the future, CSMA will continue to focus on the actual needs of enterprises, adopt a global perspective, and innovate in service methods and models, and will organize more frequent and diverse activities to help enterprises explore new markets, conduct more research, learn, and expand, thereby supporting the healthy and sustainable development of enterprises and contributing to the industry’s high-quality development.
