On November 11, the 2025 Light Industry Science & Technology Innovation and Green Development Conference—hosted by the China National Light Industry Council (CNLIC) and themed “New Quality Drives, Stronger Light Industry”—was grandly held in Nanjing. Yang Xiaojing, Chairman of the China Sewing Machinery Association, attended the event.
Focusing on the “deep integration of sci-tech innovation and industrial innovation,” the conference provided a systematic summary of the major breakthroughs made during the 14th Five-Year Plan period in advancing high-end, intelligent, green, and integrated development across the light industry. The event also featured the collective release and showcase of advanced sci-tech innovation achievements in the light industry during the 14th Five-Year Plan.
During the conference, CNLIC announced: the fourth batch of key laboratories and engineering technology research centers in the light industry; the reevaluation results of the second batch of key laboratories as well as the first and second batches of engineering technology research centers; the Light Industry Green and Low-Carbon Development Performance Report; the 2025 list of Green Manufacturing Benchmark Enterprises in the light industry; and the Catalogue of Advanced Energy-Saving and Low-Carbon Technologies in the Light Industry (2025 Edition). Two parallel forums—“Energy Saving & Carbon Reduction” and “Digital-Intelligent Empowerment”—were held concurrently, sharing best practices in collaborative innovation across industry, academia, and research, as well as whole-chain carbon-reduction solutions.

The sewing machinery industry achieved notable recognition at the conference. Engineering Technology Research Centers declared by industry enterprises—including SGG, Zoje, Sewpower, MAQI, Han’s Yueming, and Standard—successfully passed evaluation and were placed on the official list. JACK’s “Intelligent Sewing Technology for Flexible Fabrics” was selected as one of the advanced sci-tech innovation achievements in the light industry during the 14th Five-Year Plan, showcasing the sector’s strong technological innovation capabilities.
