On November 29, the 2025 China Sewing Machinery Industry Conference and the 5th Meeting of the 11th Council of the China Sewing Machinery Association (CSMA), themed “Embracing Artificial Intelligence, Innovating the Future of Sewing”, was grandly held in Guangzhou.

Yang Xiaojing, Chairman of CSMA, and other leaders attended the meeting, together with vice chairmen and representatives of invited vice-chairman units, members of the board of supervisors, standing council members and council member units, newly admitted member enterprises, and representatives of selected member companies. More than 200 participants attended the conference. The meeting was chaired by Mr. Chen Ji, Vice Chairman and Secretary General of CSMA.

The meeting reviewed and approved the CSMA 2025 Annual Work Report and the CSMA 2025 Financial Report, both delivered by Mr. Chen Ji. In 2025, focusing on the development of new quality productive forces and the strategic goals of high-quality industry development, the Association fully implemented the decisions and deployments of the CPC Central Committee and the State Council. It continued to guide the industry in structural adjustment, transformation and upgrading, and the expansion of emerging markets. Substantial and effective work was carried out in areas including building industry consensus, optimizing development planning, improving the statistical system, promoting industrial upgrading and transformation, advancing technological innovation, strengthening standards development, enhancing talent development, reinforcing publicity and guidance, building a new exhibition platform, promoting precise industrial matchmaking and international cooperation, and improving organizational development. The report also outlined ten key areas of work to be advanced in 2026, with the overall guiding principle of “defining high-quality development goals for the 15th Five-Year Plan period, effectively leading the industry to accelerate digital empowerment and transformation and upgrading, improving the modern industrial system, and fostering new quality productive forces.”

The meeting also reviewed and approved the explanation delivered by Chairman Yang Xiaojing regarding the preparations for the council election, and formally established the leading group for the election of the 12th Council.

Vice Chairman Mr. Wu Jiling presented a report on the high-quality development achievements during the 14th Five-Year Plan period and an analysis of industry economic performance in 2025. He comprehensively summarized the achievements of high-quality development during the 14th Five-Year Plan period, and, based on industry economic data from the first three quarters as well as the domestic and international economic environment, analyzed and forecast the domestic and foreign trade situation in 2025 and the industry outlook for 2026. In 2025, amid new circumstances and a new landscape, industry enterprises adhered to innovation-driven development, advanced structural adjustment, actively explored domestic and international markets, and promoted product upgrading. Domestic sales declined significantly, foreign trade recorded moderate growth, digital and intelligent upgrading of products accelerated, and overall industry performance showed a trend of stabilizing at a slower pace with continuous improvement in efficiency, demonstrating strong development resilience.

Focusing on the conference theme, Mr. Hu Wenhai, Rotating President of Jack Technology, and Professor Hu Tianliang of Shandong University were invited to deliver keynote presentations, offering constructive insights on how the industry can seize opportunities and embrace artificial intelligence. A roundtable discussion was held by Mr. Zhang Runming, Chief Engineer of Guangdong Kuangdun Technology; Professor Hu Tianliang of Shandong University; Mr. Ru Shuiqiang, General Manager of Beijing Dahao Technology; Mr. Chen Bo, General Manager of Guangzhou Chunxiao Information Technology; Mr. Xie Ruiqing, Executive Deputy General Manager of Zhejiang Zhongjie Sewing Technology; and Mr. Li Jiahui, General Manager of Zhongshan Huayang Sewing Machine Co., who shared perspectives based on practical experience, the macroeconomic environment, and their own reflections.

In his concluding remarks, Chairman Yang Xiaojing highly commended the conference, noting that it was well-paced, pragmatic in content, and highly strategic, instructive, and forward-looking. He stated that in 2025 the entire industry continued to advance high-quality development in depth, further consolidating China’s position as a manufacturing powerhouse and making outstanding contributions to the nation, society, the industrial chain, and the betterment of people’s lives. Looking ahead to industry transformation and upgrading, Chairman Yang put forward expectations and requirements from three perspectives: strengthening confidence to chart a new blueprint for industry development; innovation-driven exploration of new development models; and proactive responsibility-taking to optimize a new industry ecosystem.

At the meeting, relevant leaders presented letters of appointment to members of the international standards expert group and awarded membership certificates to 38 enterprises newly admitted to CSMA in 2025, including Tianjin Zaidenggao Intelligent Manufacturing Co., Ltd.

On the evening of November 28, the 8th Standing Council Meeting and the Board of Supervisors Meeting of the 11th Council of CSMA were also convened concurrently.
